We offer a variety of Pantanal safaris taking you into the heart of the Northern Pantanal, Brazil. Together with on of our experienced local guides you will explore the largest wetland of the world and it’s abundance of wildlife that is home to the Pantanal. Our services include wildlife, jaguar and photographic safari packages. It is possible to plan bespoke private tours as well. 

During our safaris we will visit lodges situated in some of the most beautiful and best wildlife viewing places the Pantanal has to offer. 

To ensure the best possible nature experience we travel in small groups, maximum 6-persons. During morning- and afternoon outings by car, on foot and by boat we explore the wetland to spot and enjoy the iconic species such as the Hyacinth macaws, giant anteaters, Tapirs, jaguars, ocelot, giant anteaters and the dozens of colourful species of birds that can be seen. Based on your preferences we will advise on what are the best places and safari packages for you.

Pantanal safaris, travelling in small groups

We believe in small groups to provide for the best nature experience. navigating in a small group makes you flexible, provides us to have attention for all of our guests and as well offer the space everyone needs to comfortable explore the Pantanal and bring along the gear/day-pack on our wildlife outings. 

The small group safaris (6-persons) are the most economical safaris that we offer. 
In most cases we have fixed departure dates. However, please reach out to check since we sometimes start new safari departure dates on request.

The advantage of a private safari is that we can tailor it exactly to your needs. Combining multiple locations, or focusing on specific wildlife- and bird species. Or when traveling with a family we can build in time to relax and limited traveling time.

We also accommodate private Pantanal safaris for professional photographers, camera crews that are visiting to either host a group tour themselves or creating a documentary.

Our guides have extensive experience in guiding both family safaris as well as camera crews from around the world that filmed for TV airing documentaries.

The Pantanal photography safaris are aimed for photographers to capture the beautiful wildlife of the Pantanal and in particular the jaguar. In a small group of maximum 4-persons we explore the Northern Pantanal with Porto Jofre as our starting point for our daily outings. By boat we have early morning starts on the river before the sunrise and return after sunset. enjoying the full day navigating the Cuiaba river and its tributaries. 

All Pantanal photography safaris are hosted by a seasoned and passionate wildlife photographer. Our modern boats are equipped with comfortable swivel chairs, canopy and accommodate for plenty of space to move and store your photography gear. 

The photographer host will provide you with pointers to help you capture stunning images of the Pantanal wildlife.

Day 1: Welcome and transfer to Piuval Lodge

our Pantanal safaris starts with an approx. 1 hour drive from Cuiaba to Poconé, the capital of the Pantanal. From Poconé we continue our drive and transition to a dirt road on the Transpantaneira highway for 7 kilometers before arriving at our first stay, Piuval lodge. The lodge is situated on a property of more than 7000 acres full of wildlife. It offers opportunity for exploration on foot, on horseback and game drives by car. In the afternoon we will have our first game drive and enjoy the rich bird- and wildlife. At the Piuval property we can spot Giant anteaters and recently more often jaguars are seen.

Day 2:  Morning drive Piuval Lodge & transfer to Porto Jofre

A very early morning game drive to spot the Giant anteater among other wildlife before heading back to the lodge for a breakfast. After breakfast we enjoy one more game drive and head back to relax at the lodge and have lunch.

After lunch we check-out and drive to Porto Jofre, where we will arrive in the late afternoon. There we check-in and have diner together. The program for day 3 will be shared.

Day 3-5: Full day jaguar outing on the river

The first day on the river in search for jaguars. Early morning we embark our boat and explore the Cuiaba river and it’s tributaries to find the jaguar. On our outing we will encounter a variety of other bird- and wildlife that we will enjoy and take the opportunity to photograph. Instead of returning to the lodge for lunch, we will enjoy our lunch in the middle of the state park. We then continue our exploration by boat and arrive back at the lodge around 5.30pm. Until diner time we can relax, refresh and review your photo’s of that day. The diner will be enjoyed with the whole group at the restaurant. After diner time to rest and prepare for another full day on the river.

Day 6: Transfer to Cuiaba, end of the safari

Final day of our safari. we check-out and drive back to Cuiaba to be in time at the airport for your flight.

From June till November during the dry-season is the best time to visit the Pantanal.

All our Pantanal tours and Jaguar photography safaris start from the city of Cuiaba, Mato Grosso.

Visa requirements are different based on Nationality and the country you are traveling from. Therefore, always check the visa requirements when booking a trip.

We advise to have a minimum of 4 full days in the Pantanal.

There is no Malaria in the Northern Pantanal. 

The yellow fever vaccination is strongly advised.  Vaccinations for Hepatitis A and DTP are recommended as well.

Pricing of our Pantanal safaris depends on the type of safaris, duration and program. Please contact us to receive a detailed itinerary and quotation.

We accommodate and offer bespoke jaguar & Pantanal tours. With a keen eye for detail, perfect planning and high service while staying at the best wildlife lodges the Pantanal has to offer.

We offer the option to fly in from Cuiaba or south Pantanal directly to Porto Jofre. Upon arrival we check-in and embark our boat to start our first day on the river in search for jaguars.

 A 40% non refundable deposit payment is required within 7 days to secure your booking.  The remaining balance is due 3 months before the start of the tour

For each of our guests joining our Pantanal safaris we donate a camera trap to the Jaguar Identification Project as well as support the program by purchasing the jaguar identification field guide for our guests. The JIP project helps us to understand more about the jaguar population in the Pantanal.
