Extend your Pantanal and Jaguar tour with a trip to the Amazon forest and photograph one of the most beautiful eagles on the planet, the Harpy Eagle. From an observation tower just 30 meters from the nest we can take a look in the live of the Harpy eagle and photograph their behaviour e.g. feeding their chicks, flying to the nest with large prey items and enjoy their calls.
It is truly unique to see an harpy eagle, let alone from a close distance on eye-level.

The harpy eagle photography tour can be booked as an extension to our Pantanal & jaguar safaris only. Dates on request. It is possible to stay 3, 4 or 5 full days photographing the Harpy Eagle. Request a quote for the Harpy eagle photo tour extension.
We start our harpy eagle photography tour at Cuiabá airport were we check-in for our flight to the Northern part of Mato Grosso. Flight time is approx. 1h.
Upon arrival we travel by car for 3h30m and then transfer by boat to cross a river to arrive at our camp deep in the forest for the coming 3 nights.
The first full day of photographing Harpy eagles.
Early morning breakfast and head to the observation tower (1h drive). when arriving we position ourselves on top of the observation tower. At the observation tower we keep eye on the nest and any actions around the nest. We stay there the full morning to photograph the Harpy eagle in their natural environment. The mother stays at the nest to guard the chicks while the male harpy eagle hunts and comes back with monkeys, sloths, armadillos, and agoutis to feed the chicks.
We bring a packed lunch and after lunch we continue our Harpy Eagle photography at the observation tower until late afternoon.

After breakfast it is time to check-out an transfer back to the airport for your flight back to Cuiabá or another destination of your choice.
